Howdill meeting Serbian priest

Original photograph taken by Charles Barker Howdill (1863–1941)

Portrait of Serbian priest holding cross, seated c. 1907 LEEDM.F.1993.0005.0307; Charles Baker Howdill being greeted by Serbian priest, c. 1907. Howdill family collection. This may be the Patriarch of Ravanitza (or Ravanica), a Serbian monastery near Cuprija, who apparently blessed him. Howdill used to round off his ‘Servia and its People’ by showing an image of the Patriarch.
